Abstract

KARUNIA (2025). Student ID: 200250601018.Title: “Legal Protection for Children as Victims of Sexual Harassment: A Case Study at Polresta Mamuju.” Supervised by: Rahmat Idrus (Advisor I) and Dedi (Advisor II).

This research aims to analyze the legal protection mechanisms available in Indonesia, with a particular focus on the protection of children who are victims of sexual harassment and the role of law enforcement, specifically the police, in safeguarding their rights. The study further explores the challenges encountered in the implementation of legal protection, including obstacles in law enforcement processes and the efforts undertaken by relevant authorities to ensure justice and protection for child victims.

Employing a quantitative research method with an empirical approach, the study is grounded in direct fieldwork findings. The results highlight that legal protection for children constitutes a critical component of the legal system, considering that children being in a vulnerable and developmental stage are highly susceptible to various forms of violence, including sexual harassment. Consequently, the state bears the responsibility to provide comprehensive legal protection aimed at prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation for child victims of such offenses.
